Browns rookie RB Trent Richardson excused from practice today to attend birth of his third child

Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson was excused from practice today so he could attend the birth of his third child, coach Pat Shurmur confirmed.
Richardson and his girlfriend, Sevina, are expecting a boy. They have two daughters, Taliyah, 5, and Elevera, 4.
Shurmur said he expects Richardson to play Sunday when the Browns (0-4) visit the New York Giants (2-2). Richardson is in the Cleveland area and is expected to be at the team’s headquarters today, Shurmur said.
“I’ve seen guys go through family situations, personal situations and come and play outstanding games,” Shurmur said. “So I think what’s important is that he just tidies up on the preparation that he did miss, which I know he will.”
Richardson, the third overall pick in this year’s draft, has started each of the Browns’ first four games. He has tallied 64 carries for 222 yards (3.5 average) and three touchdowns, plus 15 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown.
With Richardson absent from practice, running backs Montario Hardesty and Chris Ogbonnaya worked with the first-team offense during drills.
Other Browns players who were not at practice this morning are wide receivers Mohamed Massaquoi (hamstring) and Travis Benjamin (hamstring), safety Tashaun Gipson (knee) and tight end Alex Smith (concussion).
