Browns running back Montario Hardesty will miss time with calf injury
Browns tailback Montario Hardesty is expected to miss multiple games following his calf injury sustained Sunday at San Francisco, coach Pat Shurmur confirmed. Shurmur said there is "a moderate tear" in the calf.
"It's going to take him time to heal up," Shurmur said. "I can't tell you how many (games)."
The Browns will bring in tailbacks to work out on Tuesday. They have already lost Brandon Jackson for the season and Peyton Hillis has been in and out of the lineup with various injuries. Shurmur is hopeful Hillis will be back this week, but for now he is listed as day to day.
Shurmur did not rule out using Josh Cribbs in the backfield, either.
"Josh can do a lot of things," Shurmur said. "That would be a good choice."
