Browns ship Wimbley to Oakland on heels of Quinn trade
When the Browns acquired veteran quarterback Jake Delhomme Saturday, it was only a matter of time before Brady Quinn was handed his ticket out of town.
The move may have came quicker than some expected, as Quinn was traded to the Denver Broncos the following day on Sunday.
But the Browns also made another move Sunday, surprising many by trading linebacker Kamerion Wimbley to the Oakland Raiders for draft picks, according to the Associated Press and other news outlets.
Wimbley, the Browns first round (13th overall) in 2006 out of Florida State, struggled after making a big splash his rookie year, when he burst on the NFL scene with 11 sacks. In his four years with the Browns, Wimbley compiled 26.5 sacks.
As of Sunday evening, the Browns had yet to to comfirm the Wimbley trade. They are expected to hold a press conference sometime Monday to introduce Delhomme.
