The Browns signed running back Robbie Rouse as an undrafted free agent from Fresno State University, the team announced today.
Rouse arrived at rookie minicamp this week on a tryout basis but earned a contract. At 5-foot-6 and 190 pounds, Rouse might be the shortest player in team history.
Rouse started 26 of the 50 games in which he appeared at Fresno State, finishing as the program’s all-time rushing leader with 4,647 yards to go along with 37 rushing touchdowns, 110 catches and 794 receiving yards.
Rouse, 22, rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his final three seasons and compiled 21 career 100-yard rushing performances. Rouse, a native of San Diego, is the 19th undrafted rookie free agent the Browns have signed this year.
