Browns sign rookie defensive lineman Clifton Geathers
The Browns signed defensive lineman Clifton Geathers to a multi-year contract on Monday, the team announced. Geathers was the team’s second sixth round choice (186th overall) of the draft. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
He's the first draft selection of the Browns' 2010 rookie class to sign.
A three-year letterman at the University of South Carolina (2007-09), Geathers played in 36 games, totaling 72 tackles, six sacks, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery during his collegiate career. Born on December 11, 1987, the 6-7, 300-pounder is a native of Georgetown, S.C., and attended Carvers Bay High School in Hemingway, S.C.
