The Browns signed wide receiver Brian Tyms off the practice squad of the Miami Dolphins and waived wide receiver Tori Gurley, the team announced today.

The 6-foot-3, 204-pound Tyms entered the NFL when he signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted rookie from Florida A&M University on May 4, 2012. Tyms spent all of last season and the first seven weeks this season on the Dolphins’ practice squad.

He tallied 45 receptions for 661 yards and four touchdowns during two seasons at Florida A&M. He also spent two years at Tallahassee Community College.

The Browns promoted Gurley from their practice squad to the active roster Friday. It was the second time that happened this season.
