Browns take little-known Carey in sixth-round

By Stephanie Storm Published: April 26, 2009

With their first of three sixth-round picks (177th overall) the Browns selected Don Carey, a corner back at Norfolk State.

At 5-11, 194 pounds, Carey is a relatively unknown small-college athlete who played both safety and corner as a senior while also playing on various special teams.

He led the MEAC with five interceptions as a senior and also had 42 tackles, six pass deflections, two fumble recoveries and a blocked kick on special teams.
