Browns TE Evan Moore signs contract extension
The Browns have signed tight end Evan Moore to a multi-year contract extension worth just under $3 million per year, a league source said. The Browns have confirmed the two-year extension.
"I will be a Brown for at least 3 more years," Moore wrote on Twitter. "Couldn't be happier about it. Great organization. Great fans."
Moore signed a one-year restricted free-agent tender after the NFL's lockout ended in late July. The Browns, though, made it a priority to secure him beyond the 2011 season.
The 6-foot-6, 250-pound Moore, 26, stood out during training camp and the preseason, establishing himself as one of quarterback Colt McCoy's favorite targets. He had three catches for 40 yards and two touchdowns in the Browns' second exhibition game of the year against the Detroit Lions.
