Browns TE Jordan Cameron, CB Joe Haden sitting out practice today

By Nate Ulrich Published: December 18, 2013

Browns coach Rob Chudzinski said starting tight end Jordan Cameron (concussion) and starting cornerback Joe Haden (hip pointer) are among the players who won’t practice today.

Cameron suffered a concussion at some point Sunday in a 38-31 loss to the Chicago Bears, but he didn’t report symptoms until Monday, Chudzinski said. Cameron sat out the final two games of the 2012 season with a concussion.

If Cameron can’t play Sunday when the Browns (4-10) visit the New York Jets (6-8), tight ends Gary Barnidge and MarQueis Gray will receive more playing time.

Haden will sit out with the bruised hip that knocked him out of the game Sunday in the third quarter. Chudzinski described Haden’s status as day-to-day. If Haden can’t face the Jets, cornerbacks Julian Posey and Leon McFadden will play more.

Running back Willis McGahee has been medically cleared to practice this week and play Sunday after sitting out this past weekend with a concussion he suffered Dec. 8 against the New England Patriots.

Chudzinski said starting left guard John Greco (knee) and backup tight end Andre Smith (strained calf) will continue to sit out today.
