The Miami Dolphins have hired former Browns defensive line coach Bryan Cox. He will serve as the Dolphins’ pass-rush coach, the team announced today.
Cox, pictured right, was selected by the Dolphins in the fifth round of the 1991 NFL Draft, and he played linebacker for them during the first five seasons of his 12-year career. Cox, 43, coached the Browns’ defensive linemen for the past two seasons.
Last month, the Browns parted ways with Cox when they hired another former NFL player, Dwaine Board, as his replacement. Board, 54, was previously a defensive line coach for the Oakland Raiders (2009) and the Seattle Seahawks (2003-08).
During his playing days, Cox made three Pro Bowls. He'll reunite with former Browns offensive coordinator Brian Daboll upon his return to the Dolphins. Daboll also coached in Cleveland the last two seasons.
