Former Browns OL Artis Hicks signs one-year deal with Dolphins

By Nate Ulrich Published: March 15, 2012

Former Browns offensive lineman Artis Hicks has signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins, Hicks' agent, JR Rickert, announced tonight on his website.

The 33-year-old Hicks, who can play guard or tackle, became an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday. He spent one season with the Browns after they signed him on Sept. 5, 2011.

Hicks, 6-foot-4 and 325 pounds, played nine games and started three at right tackle last season for the Browns. He and Oniel Cousins often rotated at right tackle when starter Tony Pashos was sidelined with a ruptured tendon in his left foot.

The Browns cut Pashos on Tuesday and re-signed Cousins today. Browns President Mike Holmgren said the team is in the market for a right tackle.
