Highlights from press conference with Browns coach Eric Mangini
Browns coach Eric Mangini met with reporters after his team practiced Tuesday afternoon. Here are some of the highlights from the press conference:
- In his opening statement, Mangini said punter Dave Zastudil has been placed on injured reserve. Mangini added that the Browns re-signed tight end Joel Gamble because of Zastudil's status.
- Rookie offensive lineman Shawn Lauvao will be excused from practice this week for personal reasons, Mangini said.
- Veteran offensive lineman Floyd Womack, who's been playing right guard with the first-team offensive line during training camp, will be sidelined for the remainder of the preseason, Mangini said. Womack is out because of "knee issues," Mangini said.
- Mangini said he thinks offensive lineman Tony Pashos is close to returning. Also, offensive lineman John St. Clair should return to practice Thursday, Mangini said. Pashos and St. Clair have been rotating at right tackle with the first-team offense throughout training camp.
