Highlights from press conference with Browns coach Eric Mangini
Browns coach Eric Mangini met with reporters Tuesday morning. Here are some of the highlights from the press conference:
- Mangini said offensive lineman John St. Clair will miss practice for personal reasons and rookie offensive lineman Shawn Lauvao will return to practice after tending to his own personal matter last week.
- Mangini talking about the Detroit Lions. He's impressed with their defense and how it's created turnovers in the preseason. Mangini raved about Lions defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch.
- He also praised other Lions, too, including wide receiver Calvin Johnson and rookie running back Jahvid Best.
- Mangini said cornerback Sheldon Brown is a sure tackler, and cornerback Eric Wright showed great strides with his tackling last Saturday against the St. Louis Rams.
- Mangini said his early impression of rookie running back Montario Hardesty is that he won't need a ton of reps to be effective. Hardesty has been sidelined during training camp with a twisted right knee.
- Mangini said wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, linebacker David Bowens and offensive lineman Tony Pashos should return to practice today.
