Browns coach Eric Mangini met with reporters Friday morning. Here are some of the highlights from the press conference:
Mangini said quarterbacks Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace and offensive lineman John St. Clair will miss practice Friday. They all have ankle injuries. The quarterbacks have right high-ankle sprains. Defensive lineman Robaire Smith (back) might return to practice Friday, Mangini said.
Mangini still wouldn't officially name rookie Colt McCoy the starting quarterback for Sunday against the Steelers, nor did he officially rule out Delhomme and Wallace. But all signs are pointing to McCoy starting. Mangini said McCoy had another good day of practice Thursday.
Mangini said he expects newly acquired running back Mike Bell to be up to speed quickly. Bell might play Sunday, Mangini said.
Mangini said he expects running back Peyton Hillis and offensive linemen Alex Mack and Floyd Womack to be ready to play Sunday.
