Highlights from press conference with Browns coach Eric Mangini
Browns coach Eric Mangini met with reporters Wednesday morning. Here are some of the highlights from the press conference:
- Mangini said quarterbacks Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme and offensive lineman John St. Clair won't practice today. All of them have ankle injuries. Linebacker Jason Trusnik will also miss practice today because his wife recently gave birth to a baby boy, Mangini said.
- Mangini said rookie quarterback Colt McCoy will take all the reps at practice today, but he wouldn't flat out name McCoy the starter for the team's upcoming game against the New England Patriots. However, the chances of McCoy starting continue to increase every day the other quarterbacks miss action.
- Mangini discussed the influence Patriots coach Bill Belichick has had on his career. Their severed relationship has not changed in the past few years, Mangini said. Still, Mangini hopes their relationship will be repaired one day. "I think everything will take care of itself over time," he said.
- Mangini said he doesn't think the team is going to put in a claim for wide receiver Randy Moss, who was officially released Tuesday by the Minnesota Vikings.
