Highlights from press conference with Browns coach Eric Mangini
Browns coach Eric Mangini met with reporters Friday morning. Here are some of the highlights from the press conference:
- Mangini said linebacker Marcus Benard fainted when he collapsed in the locker room before practice Thursday. Benard won't practice Friday, but he has not yet been ruled out for Sunday, Mangini said. Benard wants to play in Cleveland's upcoming game against the New York Jets, but he still must undergo more medical evaluation today, Mangini said.
- Mangini on who will be the Browns' starting quarterback Sunday against the Jets: "I think we're moving in the direction that we've been moving in the last few weeks. Colt (McCoy) got the bulk of the reps again (Thursday)." Mangini said McCoy will get the bulk of the reps again today.
- Mangini said there is a "serious possibility" that quarterback Seneca Wallace (ankle) will be active Sunday, either as the backup quarterback or the No. 3 quarterback.
- Mangini said quarterback Jake Delhomme (ankle) looked a little rusty Thursday in his first day of practice since Oct. 8.
