Highlights from press conference with Browns coach Eric Mangini
Browns coach Eric Mangini met with reporters Monday afternoon. Here are some of the highlights from the press conference:
- Mangini said he'll wait to see if rookie Colt McCoy (ankle) is healthy before deciding who will start at quarterback for the Browns in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins.
- Mangini said quarterback Jake Delhomme did a ton of stuff well against the Carolina Panthers, but he also took risks he shouldn't have.
- Mangini said the defense didn't start the game with the intensity it needed because it didn't have a good week of practice.
- Mangini lamented the defense's poor tackling. Players need to wrap up instead of hoping ball carriers will collapse after being hit, he said.
- Mangini said he's not optimistic linebacker Scott Fujita (knee) will be able to return in Week 13.
- Mangini said he imagines rookie cornerback Joe Haden will start in Week 13 because the status of cornerback Eric Wright (knee) is still in question.
