Holmgren press conference 4 p.m.
The Browns have announced a press conference with new president Mike Holmgren at 4 p.m. today in Berea.
Holmgren is expected to announce his decision on embattled coach Eric Mangini. A Browns spokesman gave no timetable on when Holmgren's meeting with Mangini would take place.
Mangini finished his first year 5-11, including a four-game winning streak to end the season that was the Browns' longest since 1994. Fired after the 2008 season after three years with the New York Jets, Mangini has compiled a 28-36 career record. If he is fired today, it would be less than a year after he was hired last Jan. 8.
Joining the Browns on Dec. 21, Holmgren has spoken only via conference call, electing to spend the holidays with his family. He and his wife Kathy own homes in Phoenix and Seattle.
