King rates Browns 29th in NFL

By Marla Ridenour Published: May 17, 2010

Peter King of Sports Illustrated released his rankings of the 32 NFL teams in today's ''Monday Morning Quarterback'' column and he listed the Browns 29th.

The only teams below the Browns were the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills and St.Louis Rams.

Of the Browns, King wrote, ''Still can't believe the Browns paid Jake Delhomme $7 million to play quarterback this year. For a team I rank so low, there's a lot about Cleveland I like, though the passing game is not one of those things.''

King's top five were the Green Bay Packers, San Diego Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts and the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.

King admitted his picks have generally been lousy. Last year he tabbed the Chicago Bears to reach the Super Bowl and ranked the Saints 24th, which he said coach Sean Payton never forgot. He said 30 minutes after the Super Bowl, Payton spied King at the press conference and said, ''Not bad for number 24.''

The rest of the rankings follow:
6.) Miami Dolphins
7.) New York Jets
