Lerner says time will heal rift with Jim Brown
From The Associated Press:
Owner Randy Lerner remains hopeful the Browns can repair their relationship with Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown, who angrily skipped the team's inaugural Ring of Honor ceremony last month after his role as an adviser was reduced by president Mike Holmgren.
In his first public comments in nearly one year, Lerner told The Associated Press on Tuesday that he has not had any communication with Brown since April.
Brown served as a senior adviser to Lerner before Holmgren came on in December and reorganized the team's front office.
Lerner believes Brown, whom he called "the most visible symbol of what we're most proud of at the Browns," wanted to be at the Sept. 19 ceremony when the team's 16 Hall of Fame members were inducted as the initial class into the ring, a tribute Holmgren initiated.
