SOME BROWNS HISTORY:
Joe Haden, the Browns No. 1 pick and seventh overall in the 2010 NFL draft, became the 11th player drafted by the Browns from the University of Florida and the first Gator taken since linebacker Andra Davis was picked as a fifth rounder in 2002...The junior CB joins LB Clifford Charlton (1988) and DL Gerard Warren (2001) as the other Florida players selected by the Browns in the first round.
PERSONALLY SPEAKING:
Joe is the oldest of five Haden brothers, who all have first names starting with a "J" - (Josh, Jordan, Jacob and Jonathon)...He was the first college football player in his family, but now also has two younger brothers playing in college in Josh (a running back at Boston) and Jordan (who enrolled in Jan. at Florida).
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING: "I'm happy for Joe and hisfamily," Forida coach Urban Meyer told the Associated Press. " He is one of the most unselfish
players I've ever coached. He came to Florida as an offensive skill player who never played cornerback. (But) he approached the coaching staff
about changing positions because he wanted to get on the field. Despite not playing cornerback in high school he developed into one of the best ever to play his position at the University of Florida and is now a first-round draft pick in the NFL."
