Updated at 11:08 a.m.: Marcus Benard has been beamed back to earth and into this poll, along with David Veikune and Kaluka Maiava. Apologies for the omissions earlier.
The Beacon Journal and Ohio.com continued their training camp preview series Thursday with a look at the team's crowded group of linebackers.
With some new faces and questions because of injury concerns, it's tough to pinpoint four linebackers who are likely to start in the Browns' 3-4 defense. Scott Fujita, D'Qwell Jackson, David Bowens and Matt Roth are listed as my favorites, but Chris Gocong, Eric Barton -- if he can fully recover from neck surgery -- and Jason Trusnik are legitimate candidates, too. Second-year players Marcus Benard, David Veikune and Kaluka Maiava are also in the mix, but they will probably play the roles of key reserves.
So instead of trying to piece together a starting four from endless combinations, let's keep this simple.
