Practice notes: At least eight Browns players sidelined
The Browns (3-5) practiced today in preparation for their home game Sunday against the St. Louis Rams (1-7). Reporters were allowed to watch about 30 minutes of practice. Here's what you need to know about the open session:
- The following players did not practice: running backs Montario Hardesty (calf) and Peyton Hillis (hamstring), wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi (sent home with symptoms from concussion suffered Oct. 23), cornerback Dimitri Patterson (knee), strong safety T.J. Ward (foot/finger), free safety Usama Young (hip) and kicker Phil Dawson (sent home with migraine). Patterson and Young walked onto the practice field as the open period ended, but they were not in pads and did not participate in practice.
- Defensive end Auston English (knee) didn't practice either, but he stretched and did some light calisthenics during warm-ups. He wore a big brace on his left knee.
- Right tackle Tony Pashos (ankle) practiced with the first-team offensive line. Artis Hicks, Pashos' backup, took reps with the starters on Wednesday.
