The Browns (4-7) practiced today in preparation for their road game Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens (8-3). Reporters were allowed to watch about 30 minutes of practice. Here's what you need to know about the open session:
- Linebacker Kaluka Maiava (knee) and defensive end Brian Schaefering, who's pictured above, practiced with the first-team defense today. Starting strongside linebacker Scott Fujita (hand) and starting right defensive end Emmanuel Stephens (pectoral muscle) were placed on injured reserve Tuesday, so Maiava and Schaefering are receiving opportunities to develop more prominent roles.
- Quarterback Colt McCoy (elbow), running back Peyton Hillis (hamstring), defensive end Jayme Mitchell (ankle), fullback Owen Marecic (concussion), cornerback Dimitri Patterson (ankle) and offensive lineman Tony Pashos (ankle) practiced.
- As expected, strong safety T.J. Ward (foot), running back Montario Hardesty (calf), free safety Mike Adams (shoulder) and linebacker Quinton Spears (hammy) didn't practice. Ward and Hardesty watched practice.
