Practice notes: RB Montario Hardesty returns to practice
The Browns (3-6) practiced today in preparation for their home game Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-6). Reporters were allowed to watch about 30 minutes of practice. Here's what you need to know about the open session:
- Running back Montario Hardesty practiced today for the first time since he tore a calf muscle in his right leg Oct. 30 against the San Francisco 49ers. Hardesty, who's pictured to the left, participated in some individual drills at the beginning of the period open to reporters, but he did not participate in team drills in front of media.
- Defensive end Jayme Mitchell returned to practice today after being absent Thursday because of a personal reason. Mitchell has also been dealing with chest and ankle injuries, but coach Pat Shurmur said Mitchell is expected to play Sunday.
- Running back Peyton Hillis (hamstring) and strong safety T.J. Ward (foot, finger) continued to sit out. Both of them have been ruled out for Sunday.
- The following players have been limited all week but continued to practice: defensive end Auston English (knee), wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi (head), offensive lineman Tony Pashos (ankle), cornerback Dimitri Patterson (knee) and defensive end Jabaal Sheard (thigh).
