The Browns (3-4) practiced today in preparation for their road game Sunday against the Houston Texans (5-3). Reporters were allowed to watch about 30 minutes of practice. Here's what you need to know about the open session:
Running back Peyton Hillis (hamstring), wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi (concussion) and safety Ray Ventrone (hamstring) did not practice today. All three walked off the field and into the team's training facility as the open session started. Shortly before the session was closed to media, Massaquoi and Ventrone returned to the practice field to watch, but Hillis did not.
As expected, cornerback Dimitri Patterson (knee), running back Montario Hardesty (calf) and defensive end Auston English (knee) did not practice. Earlier today, coach Pat Shurmur said Patterson would work out indoors.
Linebacker Chris Gocong (shoulder) practiced.
Artis Hicks practiced at right tackle with the first-team offense, even though starter Tony Pashos was there, too.
