Reports: McCreight out
Browns director of player personnel T.J. McCreight was fired on Friday, according to Internet reports, including Cleveland.com.
McCreight had been leading the team's scouting effort this week at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
The move is a likely indication of the imminent hiring of Baltimore Ravens director of pro personnel George Kokinis as general manager. Major changes to the scouting department, if deemed necessary, would likely wait until after the April draft.
McCreight, who also interviewed for the GM position, had been with the Browns for four seasons, two in his current post. He spent eight years with the Ravens from 1997-2004, his last two as a national scout. McCreight played tight end at Liberty University under former Browns coach Sam Rutigliano.
