Rogers going on IR
Browns coach Eric Mangini said at his press conference Monday that nose tackle Shaun Rogers will go on injured reserve with a lower leg/ankle injury that will need surgery.
''He wants to be out there and it hurts. It's unfortunate,'' Mangini said of Rogers.
Mangini would not elaborate on specifics of the injury to Rogers, a three-time Pro Bowler who was carted off late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game at Cincinnati.
Mangini also said free safety Brodney Pool has a concussion. Pool has suffered at least four concussions during his five-year Browns career.
The status of linebacker Kamerion Wimbley and defensive end Kenyon Coleman, also hurt against the Bengals, will be evaluated as the week goes along, Mangini said.
