Rogers, Zastudil, Barton at OTAs, Dawson absent
Punter Dave Zastudil (leg) and linebacker Eric Barton (neck) reported to the start of Browns' off-season training activities but were not allowed to participate in drills, according to general manager Tom Heckert.
Also participating was nose tackle Shaun Rogers, arrested April 1 at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport on gun charges.
But the Browns' five unsigned restricted free agents -- linebacker Matt Roth, fullback Lawrence Vickers, running back Jerome Harrison, safety Abe Elam and linebacker D'Qwell Jackson -- were not in attendance. Also missing was kicker Phil Dawson.
Dawson has been seeking a new contract for over a year. He was the only kicker in training camp last summer, which likely contributed to a calf injury that caused him to miss five games in 2009.
Asked about Dawson's absence, Heckert said, ''It's not mandatory.''
