Saints sign Dinkins
Browns free agent tight end Darnell Dinkins has agreed to terms of a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, the Times-Picayune reported Wednesday.
Dinkins, 32, a seven-year veteran, was primarily a blocker and special teams player during his three seasons in Cleveland.
Dinkins' departure leaves newly acquired Robert Royal, Steve Heiden and Martin Rucker as the top three on the Browns' depth chart at tight end. Heiden is coming off surgery for a torn ACL suffered in mid-December and Rucker played little as a rookie. Kellen Winslow was traded to Tampa Bay on the opening day of free agency.
