Needing to fill roster spots after four defensive players were injured in last week's game at Cincinnati - including losing defensive end Shaun Rogers for the remainder of the season - the team made three minor moves Wednesday.
Defensive lineman Brian Schaefering was added to the 53-man roster and running back Jed Collins and defensive back Michael Grant were signed to the practice squad.
Later in the day, the Browns announced they had been awarded defensive back Ramzee Robinson off waivers from Philadelphia.
Schafering, 6-foot-4, 295-pounds, has spent the first 12 weeks of the season on the Browns' practice squad.
Collins, originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Philadelphia in 2008, spent parts of last season on the Eagles and Browns practice squad, in addition to two weeks on Cleveland's 53-man roster. He spent this season's training camp with Kansas City.
Grant, originally signed an undrafted free agent by Jacksonville in 2008, spent time last season with Kansas City and Washington's practice squads.
Robinson, a seventh-round draft choice of Detroit in 2007, has played in 22 games with the Lions and Eagles. He was waived by the Lions following training camp and signed by Philadelphia on Nov. 11. The University of Alabama product appeared in three games with the Eagles and recorded three special teams tackles.
