BOSTON: Kevin Love called Celtics center Kelly Olynyk’s play “bush league” but believes he’ll be able to return at some point during this postseason.

Exactly when that will be remains to be seen.

Love dislocated his shoulder with 5:22 left in the first quarter of Sunday’s Game 4, which the Cavs won 101-93 to sweep the first-round series. He left TD Garden with his left arm in a sling and will have imaging on the shoulder either Sunday night or more likely Monday morning.

Kevin Love injured, J.R. Smith ejected as Cavs sweep Celtics with 101-93 Game 4 victory

By Jason Lloyd Published: April 26, 2015

BOSTON: The Cavaliers are moving on. Now the question remains: who all is going with them?

LeBron James scored 27 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists and the Cavaliers swept the Boston Celtics out of the first round with a 101-93 Game 4 victory, but the larger concern now is Kevin Love’s injured left shoulder.

Love left the game with 5:22 left in the first quarter and did not return with what appeared to be a serious left shoulder injury, setting off a myriad of physical plays, injuries and ejections in what became the capstone of a physical first-round series.

Love was fighting for a rebound with the Celtics’ Kelly Olynyk when his left arm was pinned under Olynyk’s right arm with 5:22 left in the quarter. Olynyk pulled hard on Love's arm and he immediately sprinted off the court toward the locker room holding his left shoulder. He was quickly followed to the locker room by the training staff, General Manager David Griffin and members of the Cavs ownership group.

NBA Playoffs: Cavaliers lead Celtics 70-61 after three quarters as physical play reigns

By Michael Beaven Published: April 26, 2015

Physical play continued in the third quarter as both teams got away from basketball at times and resorted to tactics used in boxing and wrestling. Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith was ejected and Celtics forward Jae Crowder left the game with a left knee sprain as bodies hit the floor on several possessions. The scoreboard read 70-61 in favor of the Cavaliers going into the fourth quarter as the extracurricular activities made an impact on the game. Smith was ejected with 10:24 on the clock and Cleveland ahead 57-36. Smith was boxing out for a rebound when Crowder issued a shove towards Smith’s back, and Smith retaliated by throwing his arm and hand back and popping Crowder in the face. Crowder fell to the ground and suffered his injury. Referees reviewed video of the play and ejected Smith via a Flagrant 2 foul call. The quarter included Cavs guard Iman Shumpert bumping his head on center Timofey Mozgov, Celtics teammates Jared Sullinger and Isaiah Thomas delivering a couple of hard fouls and Cavs forward Tristan Thompson knocking over a row of spectators as he attempted to save the ball from going out of bounds. The Celtics closed the quarter with some inspired play to trim its deficit to single digits. LeBron James has 17 points, seven assists and seven rebounds. Kyrie Irving has 14 points and nine rebounds and Mozgov has 12 points and 10 rebounds. Thomas and Sullinger both have 13 points for the Celtics, and Avery Bradley has 10 points.

Leaders

Points: LeBron James (Cavaliers) 17.

Rebounds: Timofey Mozgov (Cavaliers) 10.

NBA Playoffs: Cavaliers lead Celtics 57-36 at halftime

By Michael Beaven Published: April 26, 2015

The Cavaliers concluded the second quarter with a LeBron James layup with 1.3 seconds on the clock, and took a 57-36 lead into halftime. The advantage is the largest in the series as Cleveland is 24 minutes away from sweeping Boston four games to none in the first round series. Matthew Dellavedova swished a 3-pointer with 2:30 to go to give the Cavs a 51-32 edge. The quarter also featured some hard fouls as Kendrick Perkins, a former Celtics player, received a Flagrant 1 foul at 1:44 after referees ruled a pick of his on Jae Crowder was excessive. Perkins remained in the game after the foul in which he used his hands to shove Crowder in the face and neck. James leads the Cavs with 13 points, six assists and five rebounds. Timofey Mozgov and Kyrie Irving both have 10 points and J.R. Smith has eight points. The Celtics scoring leaders at halftime are Jared Sullinger (10 points) and Tyler Zeller (eight points). Crowder has seven points.

NBA Playoffs: Cavaliers lead Celtics 29-19 after one quarter, lose Kevin Love to injury

By Michael Beaven Published: April 26, 2015

The Cavaliers put together a 10-0 run in the first quarter and built a 17-8 lead, but a left shoulder injury to Kevin Love midway through the quarter overshadowed the spurt. Love and Celtics forward Kelly Olynyk got tangled up and Love sprinted to the locker room with what appears to be a separated shoulder. ABC-ESPN TV reporter Heather Cox reported moments later that Love was in the Cavs locker room with ice on his shoulder and that he would not return as team personnel evaluated him. Timofey Mozgov leads the Cavaliers with seven points and four rebounds. Kyrie Irving and J.R. Smith both added in six points, and LeBron James totaled four points and five assists as Cleveland held a 29-19 lead going into the second quarter. Boston’s two scorers in the opening 12 minutes were Tyler Zeller (eight points) and Avery Bradley (six points).

Leaders

Points: Tyler Zeller (Celtics) 8.

Rebounds: Timofey Mozgov (Cavaliers) and Kyrie Irving (Cavaliers) 4 each.

LeBron James' full-court shot and the story behind it

By Jason Lloyd Published: April 26, 2015

BOSTON: Whenever he’s filming commercial spots or promos, LeBron James always boasts about being a one-take wonder. The first try always gets it done.

That apparently applies to 94-foot, overhand basketball shots, too.

VIDEO: LeBron James makes full-court shot after Cavs practice

By Jason Lloyd Published: April 25, 2015

BOSTON: Everyone knows LeBron James could've been an All-Pro receiver in the NFL, but maybe he could've been a quarterback, too. Here is James heaving a full-court pass from the corner of TD Garden, presumably following practice today and shot by James' personal trainer, Mike Mancias. Unbelievable.
