Cavs hire Altman for front office role
Koby Altman has been hired as the Cavs' pro personnel manager, the team announced on Wednesday. Altman, 29, most recently served as an assistant coach at Columbia while leading its developmental basketball program.
Altman replaces Wes Wilcox in the Cavs' front office, although their roles aren't the same. In addition to his duties with the Cavs, Wilcox was also the Cavs Development League team's general manager. He left this summer to join Danny Ferry's staff in Atlanta. Altman will coordinate the team's domestic pro scouting.

Cavs sign undrafted rookie Micheal Eric
The Cavaliers signed undrafted rookie center Micheal Eric to a three-year contract on Friday. The first year has a partial guarantee and the last two years are non-guaranteed.
Eric, 24, averaged 9.0 points and 8.8 rebounds as a senior at Temple, but a knee injury eliminated any chance of him being drafted. He went to summer league with the Cavs and averaged 4.0 points and 3.8 rebounds, impressing the coaching staff with his defensive ability.

Cavs sign free agent C.J. Miles
The Cavaliers have officially signed free agent small forward C.J. Miles to a two-year contract, which includes a team option for the second season.
Miles, 25, averaged 9.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 56 games (14 starts) for the Utah Jazz last season. He has spent his entire seven-year career in Utah.

Report: Cavs nearing agreement with Miles on two-year deal
The Cavaliers are nearing a deal with free agent small forward C.J. Miles on a two-year contract, the Salt Lake Tribune reported. A league source confirmed talks are ongoing, and a second source said the deal is not complete.
Miles, however, tweeted a picture of the Cavs' logo Friday afternoon along with the message "Excited .. Ready and most importantly BLESSED.."
