Cavs' Daniel Gibson season in jeopardy
It is possible that Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson, who has a torn tendon in his left foot and ankle, could miss the rest of the season.
Gibson initially hurt his ankle March 19.against the Nets. X-rays were negative, but the Cavs said this afternoon that Gibson’s ankle has not progressed. He underwent an MRI that revealed the torn tendon. The Cavs said in a statement that Gibson is undergoing further evaluation and seeking additional evaluations to determine treatment.
The Cavs did not say how long he would be out, but with about a month remaining in the season, it’s unlikely he will be back.
Gibson is averaging 7.5 points and 2.2 assists in 26 minutes. The Cavs play the 76ers tonight.
