Cavs drop eighth straight to Magic
Antawn Jamison had 16 points and nine rebounds and Kyrie Irving had 13 points and six assists, but the Cavs shot just 38 percent in losing 93-80 at Orlando on Friday for their eighth consecutive loss to the Magic.
The Magic led 66-46 midway through the third quarter before going nearly five minutes without a basket. The Cavs cut the deficit down to seven during the scoring drought, but never threatened the Magic in the fourth quarter.
Dwight Howard had 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Magic, who placed all five starters in double figures and have won five straight over the Cavs at Amway Center.
Tristan Thompson had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Omri Casspi had 11 points off the bench for the Cavs, who shot 38 percent and just 22 percent on 3-pointers (4 of 18). The Cavs have lost five of their last six.
