Point guard Baron Davis scored 10 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter, and forward J.J. Hickson finished with 24 points and 15 rebounds to help the host Cavaliers snap their four-game losing streak with a 97-91 victory against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena.
Davis played for the first time since March 17. He had been sidelined during the Cavs’ previous three games with back and knee injuries. In his return, he hit a backbreaking 3-pointer with 9.9 seconds left to seal the Cavs' win.
The Cavs (14-57) suffered losses in their first two meetings with the Pistons (25-47) this season. Forward Tayshaun Prince and guard Richard Hamilton scored 15 points apiece to lead the Pistons, who have lost their past three games.
Ryan Hollins started at center for the Cavs for the second consecutive game and contributed 10 points. Cavs forwards Luke Harangody and Samardo Samuels added 10 and nine points, respectively.
