Cavs fall to Hawks 99-83
The Cavaliers went scoreless for the game's first five minutes and never really recovered in falling to the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday 99-83 at Quicken Loans Arena.
Baron Davis had 19 points and seven assists off the bench and starter Ramon Sessions had 13 points and three assists, but the Cavs lost for the 11th time in their last 14 games.
The Cavs trailed 8-0 before J.J. Hickson finally scored the team's first basket on a rebound and putback with 6:50 left in the first quarter. They trailed the entire game.
Marvin Williams had 31 points and Josh Smith had 18 rebounds for the Hawks, both season highs. They were playing without leading scorer Joe Johnson, who sprained his thumb Saturday night, but they didn't miss him.
Williams missed his career high by two points, but provided plenty of firepower to beat the league’s worst team. The Cavs shot 37 percent and received just 37 points from their starters.
