Cavs owner shoots down rumor of head coach being fired
Speaking to the media, Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert denied reports that head coach Mike Brown has been fired.
"We are right now going through the evaluation process," Gilbert said. "I don't think it's a secret coaching is one of the things we'll look at."
Gilbert said he will consult with Brown and general manager Danny Ferry in the coming days. The evaluation process will last a week to 10 days.
Brown has been the head coach of the Cavs since the 2005-06 season. His career regular season record is 272-138. He was named NBA coach of the year following the 2008--09 season. The Cavs made the NBA Finals in 2007.
A press conference with Ferry is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
