Cavs sign former Cleveland State star D'Aundray Brown
INDEPENDENCE: The Cavaliers signed former Cleveland State guard D'Aundray Brown on Thursday. He averaged 10.8 points and 4.5 rebounds as a senior last season for the Vikings and has been in the Cavs' facility multiple times working out.
Brown is a longshot to make the roster, but by signing him now, the Cavaliers can manuever to get him on their Development League roster in Canton even if he's not on their 15-man NBA roster.
Cavs coach Byron Scott said he likes the way Brown, 24, defends and can make open shots.
"We love the way he plays," Scott said. "Obviously if he's not here with us, we probably have the opportunity to put him on our Canton D-League team and watch him grow."
