The Cavs signed guard Lester Hudson to a 10-day contract on Friday. Hudson was averaging 17.6 points, 6 rebounds and 4.2 assists in five games (two starts) for the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League.

The Cavs signed guard Lester Hudson to a 10-day contract on Friday. Hudson was averaging 17.6 points, 6 rebounds and 4.2 assists in five games (two starts) for the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League. Prior to joining the Toros, Hudson spent this season playing in China, where he ranked second in the league in scoring beihnd J.R. Smith by averaging 36 points. He will wear No. 14 and is available for tonight's game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Hudson, 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, was originally a second-round pick (58th overall) of the Boston Celtics in 2009 out of UT-Martin. He recorded college basketball's first quadruple-double when he had 25 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals in a 116-74 win over Division II Central Baptist College.
Cavs coach Byron Scott compared Hudson to Daniel Gibson, who could miss the rest of the season with a torn tendon in his left foot.
"Probably an undersized two-guard who can flat out shoot it," Scott said of Hudson. "He's a scorer. Defensively, I don't know a whole lot about Lester yet, but offensively he can put it in the basket."
Scott would like to get Hudson into a practice first before using him in a game. The Cavs won't practice again until Monday. Scott said he could use him tonight or Saturday at New York, but he doesn't foresee it happening.
