Cavs will not pick up Manny Harris' contract
The Cavaliers informed Manny Harris on Sunday they will not pick up his contract for the remainder of the season, choosing to leave the roster spot open in advance of Thursday's trade deadline. The roster now stands at 14.
Harris had signed two 10-day deals with the Cavs, meaning they had to offer him a guaranteed contract for the rest of the season in order to keep him. Instead Harris will become a free agent Monday morning, but he has not decided if he will report back to the Cavs' Development League team in Canton.
"I'm going to wait until after the trade deadline," Harris said. He's hoping to perhaps latch on with another NBA team.
Harris appeared in three games for the Cavs, playing a total of 18 minutes. He scored a total of nine points during his 20 days.
