Change of plans: Cavs guard Daniel Gibson ruled out vs. Heat
Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson told reporters he felt "great" after going through a full practice this afternoon for the first time in more than a week. Coach Byron Scott said he expected Gibson to play Tuesday against the Miami Heat, barring any setbacks.
Well, apparently the soft tissue infection in Gibson's neck flared up. Shortly after practice, Gibson told the team trainer he felt discomfort in his neck. As a precaution, Gibson will not travel with the team to Miami, the Cavs annnounced tonight. He will miss his fifth consecutive game with the infection.
Guard Anthony Parker (strained lower back) and rookie forward Tristan Thompson (sprained left ankle) won’t make the trip, either. Parker will miss his fourth consecutive game, and Tristan Thompson will sit out his third in a row.
