Coach Kuester Heading North to Detroit

By George Thomas Published: July 7, 2009

The Detroit Pistons are in the process of picking off one of the Cavaliers top assistants according to reports.
Several websites are reporting that John Kuester, Coach Mike Brown's chief lieutenant, is heading to Motown as head coach of the Detroit Pistons.
Kuester was widely given credit for the improvement in the Cavs' offense this past year.  He will be returning to the Motor City for a second stint after serving as an assistant under Larry Brown from 2004-06.
Kuester's name had also been linked to the Philadelphia 76ers opening earlier this spring.  He's been an NBA assisant since 1990.  He initially joined the Cavs staff in August of 2007.
