Dion Waiters returns to Cavs practice; C.J. Miles' MRI is negative

By Jason Lloyd Published: October 18, 2013

INDEPENDENCE: An MRI on C.J. Miles' ailing left leg was negative, but Miles did not participate in practice today and is unlikely to play in Saturday's home preseason finale against the Indiana Pacers.

Dion Waiters (hip) did participate in everything, but Friday's practice was only a light workout. Waiters is considered questionable for the Pacers. Neither injury is considered serious.

A day after the 19-year-old Sergey Karasev shined in the preseason victory over the Detroit Pistons, coach Mike Brown was still impressed. Brown has made it clear guys like Karasev and Carrick Felix will really have to wow him in order to crack his rotation, but he acknowledged he was wowed Thursday night by Karasev's 10 points and three rebounds in 34 minutes.

"To be 19 and to do that in a starting environment is pretty impressive," Brown said. "For myself, yeah I sat back and said, ‘OK, wow. This kid might have something to him.’"
