Forward Jawad Williams signs one-year contract
According to several published reports today, forward Jawad Williams has signed a one-year qualifying offer to stay with the Cavaliers.
The deal is believed to be worth $1.02 million, but not fully guaranteed. Williams was reportedly seeking a multi-year contract.
As restricted free agent, the Cavaliers could match any offer Williams received this offseason. He reportedly garnered interest from the San Antonio Spurs.
Williams saw extended playing time increase the 2009-10 season, playing 54 games with six starts. He averaged 4.1 points and 1.5 rebounds in 13.7 a game last season.
Prior to playing in college for the University of North Carolina, Williams was a star at St. Edward High School in Lakewood.
