If you saw it you know what happened, but there is nothing that can describe the domination the Cavs displayed tonight. The weakest part of their overall game was the fact that they turned the ball over 18 times leading to 22 Hawks points. Call them gifts, because Atlanta certainly wasn't getting much on their own. The second and third quarters were the key to the game as the Cavs outscored the Hawks 59-38 in those two frames. They got balanced offense with five players (LeBron James, Mo Williams, Delonte West, Anderson Varejao and Wally Szczerbiak) hitting doube figures and the defense played with tenacity and intensity holding the Hawks to just 35 percent shooting in the game. They added 11 blocked shots and seven steals. They also outscored Atlanta in the paint 44-24. They made it look easy. Mike Brown cautioned against getting overconfident.
One thing is clear - if this remains the rout that it is, the Hawks will leave Cleveland a dejected and mentally damaged team. Yes, they are missing Marvin Williams and Al Horford, but this is a serious spanking with three Cavs - LeBron James, Mo Williams and Delonte West - in double figures at the half and two others - Wally Szczerbiak and Anderson Varejao - close to that. The Cavs are shooting 56 percent from the floor while holding the Hawks to 33 percent. The Cavs are crushing them in rebounds 23-14. While no one ever wants to call a game this early in the process; a reasonable person has to wonder whether the Hawks can comeback from this, especially after James thrust a dagger in their collective heart with 36-foot jumpshot.

The only team that hurt the Cavs in the quarter is the Cavs. They had four turnovers in the first quarter and missed more than a few chances to go up by double digits. A telling sign of what's to come? They got Anderson Varejao going in the first quarter with six points. LeBron led all scorers in the quarter with 11.

It may look easy, but our guys are working extremely hard out there. Atlanta had some looks they missed. The guys were focused on each possession. We have to understand we have a long way to go, we can't get too far ahead of ourselves.First half: Cavs 59, Hawks 35
