Post mortem: Cavs 121, Wizards 98
Big difference in the Cavs team that played tonight and won and the team that lost to the Bobcats Sunday at Quicken Loans Arena:
- They were able to get the ball to Shaquille O'Neal for high percentage shots around the basket. He delivered with 17 points and 16 rebounds. He was active and effective hitting on 6-of-9 shots.
- They shared the ball and didn't rely too much on LeBron James. In fact, James only played 31 minutes in the win, but still managed to be the team's high scorer with 23 points. Ten players scored tonight, six in double figures. Off 43 buckets, they got 29 assists which tells you the ball was moving, the offense was patient and the team was communicating.
- The bench, after a rough outing Sunday, returned to productivity, scoring 51 points as Anderson Varejao, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Delonte West all scored in double figures.
- Lastly, the Cavs dominated the boards 44-28 and the paint, out scoring the Wizards 50-30 there, a figure that's been a trouble spot for them in recent weeks.
