Gibson newest 3-point shootout contestant
Cavs guard Daniel Gibson will participate in the 3-point shootout Feb. 19 during All-Star weekend at Staples Center in Los Angeles. He will join a field that includes Boston's Ray Allen and Paul Pierce (the defending champion), Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant, Miami's James Jones and Golden State's Dorell Wright.
Gibson finished second in the contest in 2008, the same year he was named MVP of the Rookie-Sophomore Challenge. Gibson is tied for ninth in the league in 3-point percentage at 43.9 percent. He and Allen (third) are the only two ranked in the top 10 who were invited.
Gibson is averaging 13.0 points and 3.2 assists this season for the Cavs.
