Irving probable for Knicks; Waiters, Zeller ill
Kyrie Irving is expected to play tonight when the Cavs host the New York Knicks. Irving has missed the last three games with a hyperextended right knee, but made it through practice on Sunday and Monday's morning shootaround without incident.
Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller, however, are both sick and remain questionable for tonight.
Irving had six days off to rest the knee and Scott asked him again Monday morning how he felt. Irving told him he felt good.
"I still don't know how to really take that," Scott said. "Trying to keep a pretty watchful eye on him and the way he's walking and moving. I didn't see any hesitation in his steps, or grimmacing or limping or anything like that. So I'm going to take him at his word."
Scott conceded, though, that Irving has proven to be a pretty good actor in his Uncle Drew spots.
"We know he's got a little BS in him," Scott said. "But I think he's being as honest as he can be about how he feels right now. I think the rest did do him a lot of good, rest and treatment. That's what we knew he needed when he hurt his knee.'
Irving scored a career-high 41 points the last time the Cavs played the Knicks. They lost that game at Madison Square Garden in December, but have won 10 consecutive games against the Knicks at home.
