Cavaliers coach Mike Brown made things official today, naming Antawn Jamison a starter for tonight's game against the New Orleans Hornets.
Jamison, who was acquired in a trade with the Washington Wizards last week, spent his first two games in a Cavs uniform coming off the bench.
But against the Orlando Magic on Sunday, he started the second half and was productive in the process, scoring 19 points and pulling down eight rebounds.
His move into the starting lineup wasn't unexpected. Brown said that he was leaning in that direction Monday and it was probably the correct one.
Jamison looked more comfortable in a starting role and his presence means that Shaquille O'Neal and LeBron James will not see as many double teams.
The Cavs will enter the game on a three-game losing streak.
